COPYRIGHT POLICY

The contents of the IDIG: Idaho Digital Memories digital collections are made publicly available by the collection holding institutions. These collections include materials such as artifacts, maps, photographs, moving images, oral histories, state documents, archives, and digital resources.

These materials are available electronically for broad public access for non-commercial educational purposes such as research, teaching, private study and to promote scholarship.

U.S. copyright and intellectual property laws apply to the digital resources made available through this site. Copies of these materials are provided under the authority of Section 107 of the U.S. Copyright Act. It is the user’s obligation to determine and satisfy copyright or other use restrictions when reproducing materials found in the IDIG: Idaho Digital Memories digital collections.

Please contact the collection holding institution for available information regarding copyright status. The nature of historical archival and manuscript collections often makes it difficult to determine the copyright status of an item. Whenever possible, the collection holding institution provides available information about copyright owners and other restrictions in the metadata associated with the digital resource. IDIG and the holding institutions provide the aforementioned information as a service to aid users in determining the copyright status of an item. Ultimately, it is the user’s responsibility to use an item according to the terms governing its use.
